Dr Stuart Lester passed away suddenly on 11 May 2017. You can read a tribute to him here.
The funeral will be on Wednesday 31 May at 11.30am. The family have said that they welcome people Stuart knew through his work at the funeral, but they would like to know if people want to attend, in order to help with catering arrangements. If you would like to attend, please complete the form below and we can send you more details.
We have received a lot of messages from people, which we have been passing on to the family. We are planning to have a Book of Remembrance at the funeral, so if you would like your message to be included, please write it here (you can copy and paste your original one, or write something different). If you have any photos or other creative materials that can be sent electronically, please email them to wrussell@glos.ac.uk You could also add them to the book at the event.
We are in the process of setting up a fund in Stuart’s memory. The fund will award a small, annual grant to support enquiry into children’s play and adult response-ability regarding the conditions that support playfulness to emerge. This was a key aspect of Stuart’s work, which he saw as a collective and political issue of spatial justice. The family has asked for no flowers at the funeral, but if you would like to donate to the Stuart Lester Fund, please do so here.
Thanks for setting this up. Is there an address for the funeral?
