Friday 27th January 2017 | The Tales We Tell: Sharing stories of childhood, play and playing
The 8th annual professional development event for the play sector. This professional development day features a series of valuable stories about ‘childhood’ ‘play’ and ‘playing’ from a variety of different perspectives and locations. These wide-ranging tales, related by staff and students from the ‘Professional Studies in Children’s Play’ Masters programme, are tentative attempts to look differently at the ways in which we take account of children’s play, to disturb common-sense and open-up new possibilities for working with the messy ways in which ‘play spaces’ are produced. The day includes the launch of the ‘Sharing Memories of Adventure Playgrounds’ exhibition; the culmination of a research project that celebrates a rich collection of stories and memories of adventure playgrounds in Bristol and Gloucester. |
